Global health

Dr Todsen is actively engaged in advancing global health by promoting surgeon-performed ultrasound in low-resource settings to improve diagnostic capacity and patient care. Through collaboration with the African Head and Neck Society and partners across sub-Saharan Africa, he has supported the donation of ultrasound equipment and the training of local surgeons in Zimbabwe and Uganda, enabling integration of point-of-care ultrasound into clinical practice.

African head and neck surgeons have been invited to the Copenhagen International Head & Neck Ultrasound Course and received practical follow-up training at Rigshospitalet, with donated ultrasound systems being implemented to enhance diagnostic services locally.

These efforts reflect a sustained commitment to capacity building, technology transfer, and education that support sustainable improvements in surgical diagnostics and care delivery in resource-limited healthcare environments.
